Climate Change & Action
Strategic Objective:
To empower community through eco-friendly innovation, sustainable household waste management, and the adoption of climate-smart agricultural practices that protect both people and the planet.
Key Focus Areas:
- Promoting the cultivation of hazard-tolerant crops and organic composting to ensure year-round food security and income, even in the face of environmental shocks.
- Driving community-led action in waste management, tree plantation, and homestead gardening to improve local biodiversity and environmental health.
- Strengthening the ability of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to use their savings and diverse income-generating activities (IGAs) as a buffer during climate-related catastrophes.
Key Results and Indicators:
- % of targeted households able to meet their basic needs during “catastrophic periods” by utilizing diversified income streams or internal group savings.
- % of households implementing at least two sustainable environmental practices (e.g., organic composting, waste segregation, or homestead gardening).
- % of community members demonstrating increased knowledge of climate risks and taking proactive, documented actions to mitigate local environmental hazards.
